What is Budget Health?
Your monthly surplus or deficit: your income minus everything you've planned to spend and save.
Updated 1 October 2026
Budget Health on your Overview shows what's left each month once your plan is paid for: your income minus the total of your budget lines. Savings and investment lines count as planned, so a surplus is money left over after you've saved.

- A surplus (green) means your plan fits within your income.
- A deficit (red) means you've planned to spend or save more than comes in. Look at your biggest lines on the Budget tab to see what could give.
- No income set yet? The card shows what you've planned, and what you spent in the last month you imported. Tap Add income to see what's left.
Planned and actual spending
Budget Health compares your income with your plan. To see what you actually spent:
- Open the Budget tab. The Planned view shows each budget line.
- Choose a month. The totals at the top show Planned and Actual for that month.
- Tap a line to see the payments matched to it.
Where it's going shows how your spending splits across your lines. Use Group by Type to combine lines of the same type, and Exclude Essentials to leave out rent or mortgage, Council Tax, utilities, phone and broadband, and groceries, and see how the rest of your income is split.
