Add an investment and log a buy

Add each fund or share you hold, log what you've bought, and see its value and gain.

Updated 1 October 2026

The Investments tab tracks each fund or share you hold: how many units you have, what you paid, what it's worth now and your gain or loss.

The Investments tab: two fund holdings worth £2,945.79 in total, up £345.79 (13.3%)
Each holding shows its units, average price, value and gain.

Add a holding

Tap Add holding and fill in:

  • Holding name, such as "Vanguard FTSE Global All Cap".
  • Ticker (optional), such as VUSA. Bunse needs it to fetch live prices.
  • Broker/Account, such as "Stocks & Shares ISA".
  • Currency: GBP, GBX (pence, used by many London-listed funds), EUR or USD. It can't be changed once the holding has transactions.

Log a buy

Open the holding and tap Log Top-up. Enter the date and the amount invested, then either:

  • I know the exact units: the units or shares bought, from your broker's confirmation. This is the most accurate. Add up every part of the purchase, including any separate fractional-share line.
  • I only know the price: the price per unit. Bunse works out the units, but the price on a confirmation is usually rounded, so this is slightly less precise.

For a holding in another currency, you can enter the amounts in that currency, or tick Enter in GBP and Bunse converts them using that day's exchange rate.

Values and gains

Each holding shows its units, your average price per unit, what it's worth now and your gain or loss, in pounds and as a percentage. The total at the top adds them all up. Sort by % Gain or £ Gain to see which are doing best.

Note

Bunse needs live prices to show what a holding is worth today. Until then, each holding is valued at what you paid for it. See how to get live investment prices.

On your phone, Bunse can remind you when your prices haven't been refreshed for over a month.
