Lock Bunse with Face ID or your fingerprint

Ask for Face ID, your fingerprint or your phone's PIN each time you open Bunse.

Updated 1 October 2026

App lock asks for Face ID, your fingerprint or your phone's PIN before Bunse opens, so someone using your unlocked phone can't see your finances.

Turn on App lock

  1. Tap Settings (the cog, top right).
  2. Under App lock, tick Require Face ID / fingerprint to open Bunse.

You can also turn it on at the end of setting up Bunse, with Lock Bunse with your fingerprint or face.

Your phone needs a screen lock (a PIN, pattern, password, fingerprint or Face ID) set up first. If it doesn't have one, Bunse asks you to set one up in your phone's settings.

How it works

  • When you open Bunse, it shows Bunse is locked and asks you to confirm it's you. Tap Unlock if the prompt doesn't appear on its own.
  • It stays unlocked for 30 minutes after you switch to another app, so popping out to check your banking app doesn't lock you out.
  • If Face ID or your fingerprint isn't recognised, you can use your phone's PIN, pattern or password instead, so you're never locked out of your own data.
Note

App lock is available in the iPhone and Android apps. It controls who can open Bunse; your data stays on your phone either way.

Turn it off

Untick the same box in Settings. If you remove your phone's screen lock while App lock is on, the lock screen offers Turn off app lock instead.
